Do we provide plastic bags and how are they used?: We provide plastic bags, however here in Singapore retail stores such as ntuc release schemes such as BYOB (Wednesday), when shoppers bring their own bag, they get 10 cents off their purchase,for the sake of being eco friendly, to decrease the usage of plastic bags. They can be recycled, reused over again to contain other items. They also can be used in craft projects/are for daily usage.
Who are the cashiers (age,nationality) and what kind of service do they provide: The cashiers in my local supermarket are mostly ladies in their mid 50s. they are mostly Singaporeans (Chinese,Malay,Indian)they provide average service. Once in a while we chat with them about their job experience, and most are only here to kill time and earn money at the same time. Most do not feel "passionate" or a sense of pride for their job as a cashier.
